Our First Pet Service!

On Sunday 3rd October the church marked Animal Welfare Sunday by holding a “Pet Service.”  More than a hundred people came along with dogs, guinea pigs, cuddly toy pets and even A LIZARD!

Thinking about human responsibilities to the other creatures we share the planet with, we also gave thanks for our animal companions. Hannah Midsom- Brown brought the most unusual pet – her Lizard “Dobby”!

Asked whether this would an annual event he said,  “I guess it will be – a small boy said he hoped to have a hampster for Christmas and he is looking forward to bringing it along next October!   Also, it is important that we remember our responsibilities not to exploit or harm the creatures we share this fragile world with.”
