I read these words..

May 25, 2006

I read these words in the Bible recently: “Does anyone dare despise this day of small beginnings?“ (Zechariah 4:10)

Do you feel there’s a huge gap between your present job and your ultimate career destination?  You say “I’d love to switch careers, but this job has security;  I don’t think I can take the risk.“  “It would be great to try to market my own product, but I don’t know how to get started.“  The excuses pile up like dirty dishes in the sink:  It would take too long, cost too much, be too risky, maybe one day…

How can you overcome the fear of starting? Well you reach big goals by taking small steps!  Watch a baby learning to walk and you’ll see it’s done one step at a time.  But eventually it’s achieved.  So with our life goals. Plan and take a small measured step and who knows what will happen next.  I think of the church on Fairford Leys… many small steps were taken and the result is a thriving Christian community in the heart of the village centre.  We took a chance, a risk, but it was one step at a time.

So go on think of your dream… and take a step of faith!
